Bardsley and Wazza hit headlines for their antics in 2015, with video footage exclusively revealed by SunSport capturing the moment their play-fighting took a serious turn.

The ex-Manchester United pals were horsing around with boxing gloves in Rooney’s kitchen.

But the England legend ended up KO’d on the ground after catching a stray hit from Bardsley.

The moment went viral and even landed Rooney in hot water with then-United boss Louis van Gaal.

The pair have since enjoyed very different careers, with Bardsley retiring from playing last summer and Rooney being sacked as Birmingham manager in January.

But Bardsley admits he’d love to be reunited with Rooney for a proper scrap in the boxing ring.

His offer comes after Wazza was lined up for a big-money career change with KSI’S Misfits Boxing.

Reflecting on the infamous kitchen KO, Bardsley told talkSPORT: “It was in his house, we’d been out watching a couple of Super Sunday games and had a skinful, probably too many than what we should have done to be honest.

“But boys will be boys, it was a Sunday afternoon, we got a little bit carried away. We ended up back at Wayne’s house, had a little bit of a spar, one thing led to another and next minute there’s blood all over the kitchen and all sorts.

“The video was getting sent around, which is a little bit embarrassing form out point of view, considering he was at United at the time as captain and I was at Stoke.

Wayne Rooney breaks silence on boxing fight after talks with KSI’s Misfits and reveals plans to return to management

“It was a little bit embarrassing at the time but it is what it is, it’s one of those things where you’ve probably had too many drinks.

“We’d all had a few drinks so it was one of them, the timing was spot on, my jab is pretty accurate to be honest.”

Bardsley then revealed he was keen to fight Rooney in a boxing match, potentially for charity.

He added: “Yeah probably. Obviously a donation to a charity of our choice and stuff, of course, it’d be a bit of fun. Why not?

“I think he’s obviously got a far bigger name than I have but he’d certainly sell an arena out, I’m sure of that.”

However, speaking on The Overlap, Rooney insisted his priority was to return to football.

Regarding talks with Misfits, he said: They’ve been in touch and asked the question but I think at the minute I want to focus on getting back into management.

“There’s a few, obviously Misfits have been in, and that’s been all over the news.
