INSTAGRAM has stopped working for thousands of users in a global outage.
The popular Meta-owned app went down across the world on Monday evening.
Reports started flooding in to DownDetector from 7pm, with 1,700 complaints of the app not working by 8.24pm.
It comes after Meta faced a global outage of its products, including Instagram and Facebook Messenger last month.
Multiple functions are currently down amid the reported outage with Instagram.
“Can’t post, can’t edit or add captions, can’t comment,” one wrote on Downdetector.
Another added: “I can’t comment on either profile and stories don’t work.”
More than 2,800 users reported they were struggling to access the Instagram app.
Around 52 per cent of reported problems are associated with the app as 31 per cent can’t login.
Threads, Instagram’s sister social media app, is also experiencing outages.
Shortly after issues began surfacing, users went to X to see if there were others experiencing problems.
Some thought it was ironic that Instagram had gone down on April Fool’s Day, while others claimed the social media platform seems to have an issue every other week.
Today’s outage comes just three weeks after Instagram last experienced issues.
On March 21, nearly 7,000 people reported the app being down across Britain.
