In the utmost discretion, the fashion house Jacquemus enlisted the expertise of French children’s fashion specialist Children Worldwide Fashion (CWF) to create its capsule collection for children aged 4 to 12, launched in November 2023.
In 2021, the house founded by French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus had already ventured into children’s fashion by offering an internally developed collection, reveals a source close to the matter.
For its new collection launched at the end of 2023, which includes boy’s and girl’s versions of the brand’s classics (t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, shirts, etc.), the Jacquemus team turned to a specialist this time, CWF. The aim for Jacquemus: to test the market and industry specialists’ appetite for its children’s fashion.
CWF, which holds thirteen children’s fashion licenses such as Chloé, Givenchy, Kenzo Kids, and two proprietary brands, created this line named “Mini Me by Jacquemus” in its offices. The group also offers the new line on its retail website Kidsaround.com, alongside its other brands and licenses.
According to CWF’s communications, this partnership with Jacquemus was agreed upon for a single season only. When contacted by FashionNetwork.com, Jacquemus has not yet responded to our inquiries.
Present in 80 countries and nearly 2,200 points of sale, including 350 department stores, 70 pure players, and 65 ‘Kids around’ boutiques, the CWF group reported a turnover of 284 million euros in 2022. Jacquemus, which surpassed 200 million euros in turnover in 2022, is estimated to have reached 280 million in 2023, according to independent media outlet Glitz Paris.
