Jackson got on the scoresheet in the 67th minute to bring the score level for the third time – just a few seconds after Carragher said that he “hadn’t seen much” of him.

Following the 22-year-old’s goal, Carragher was forced to track back on his comment.

While commentating on the match, the former defender joked: “And that’s why am not a coach!”

Fans took to X to react, with one person writing: “Jackson scores. Commentators curse for Jamie Carragher 😂.”

Another added: “Carragher gave a whole speech about Jackson being MIA and he scores 2 seconds later.”

A third quipped: “Jamie Carragher set Nicolas Jackson up there.”

A fourth fan wrote: “Commentators curse there from Carragher hahahaha big up Jackson, he’s in the right place, top striker!”

While another joked: “Jackson must have had Carragher in his earpiece or something.”

The points were shared in West London following the thrilling match.

Erling Haaland broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 25th minute after being fouled in the box by Marc Cucurella.

Thiago Silva then levelled the score before Raheem Sterling fired Chelsea ahead.

Manuel Akanji popped up with an equaliser just before half time and Haaland scored a second after the break to give City the advantage again.

Jackson then scored to draw Maurico Pochettino’s side level at 3-3, but City thought they’d won it in the 86th minute when Rodri put them ahead once more.

Ex-Man City star Cole Palmer converted a penalty in added time to clinch a point for the Blues in dramatic fashion.
