A former beauty queen has reportedly died following complications from plastic surgery.
Jaquelin Carrieri, from Argentina, suffered a blood clot and died at a California clinic on Sunday, according to her relatives.
Her two children Chloe and Julian were by her side when she passed away, according to Argentine media.
The 48-year-old model was once crowned queen of her district and was a runner-up at a beauty pageant at San Rafael en Vendimia grape harvest festival in Argentina in 1996.
“We want to inform our followers today of some sad news,” a post on her Instagram began.
“Jaquelin Carrieri, who was Queen of Punta del Agua District and Deputy Queen of San Rafael Department in 1996, has passed away.
“From Reinas de San Rafael, we want to extend our condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time,” the post continued.
The mother of two was soon to celebrate her 49th birthday before her sudden death.
A post from the Facebook account Reinas Vendimiales San Rafael Mendoz, explained Jaquelin Carrieri was a woman of “great talent” and was well known for “dressing the San Rafael pageant queens for many years”.
“She passed away in Los Angeles, California, due to a stroke that may have been caused by cosmetic surgery”.
