Jason Derulo has landed in Perth ahead of RnB Fridayz Live following a controversial announcement made by Abbie Chatfield who stood down from the event’s co-host role due to Derulo’s sexual harassment claims.
The headlining singer was snapped leaving Perth’s International Airport in a black hoodie on Saturday ahead of tonight’s RnB concert at RAC arena.
Joined by Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child, Derulo is expected to deliver some of his smash 2010 hits like Ridin’ Solo and Talk Dirty.
Flo Rida and Boyz II Men will also form part of the mega line-up for a night of old-school and contemporary RnB and hip-hop dance floor anthems.
Originally set to be co-hosted by popular TV host Abbie Chatfield, the Aussie personality pulled out in late October due to sexual harassment claims involving headline act Jason Derulo against another woman.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram, saying she doesn’t feel comfortable working alongside Derulo at the concert next month.
“At this time, there is an active lawsuit involving the headline act, including an allegation of sexual harassment.”
“While these are presently allegations and there has been no resolution in court, I personally don’t feel comfortable performing my duties as co-host while these legal matters are outstanding.
“I’m sorry to disappoint anyone who was excited to come and see me at Fridayz Live this year. I wish the other acts on the lineup the absolute best for their shows and am disappointed I can’t be there.”
The concert is part of an Australian-New Zealand-wide tour that set off in Melbourne on Friday and will be arriving in Adelaide, Brisbane, Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney over the next two weeks.
