The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2024 Session 1 (January 2024) in about 544 centres in 291 cities (including 21 cities outside India).Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) was conducted on January 27, 29, 30, 31, and February 01, 2024, in two shifts – 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. While Paper 2 (B. Arch and B. Planning) was held on January 24, 2024, in a single shift from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
The exam was conducted in 13 different languages including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Additionally, the examination was held in 21 cities outside India such as Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos/Abuja, Colombo, Jakarta, Moscow, Ottawa, Port Louis, Bangkok, and Washington D.C.
Compared to the previous year, there has been a 27% rise in the number of registered candidates, with a total of 12,31,874 candidates registering this year. The attendance for Paper 1 (B.E. / B.Tech.) across the country was 95.8%, which is one of the highest percentages of attendance seen since NTA began conducting the JEE (Main) examination.

The JEE Main cutoff is of two types – qualifying cutoff which is released by the NTA and admission cutoff which is released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on behalf of the participating institutes. As per the previous years’ trends, candidates can check the expected cutoff for JEE Main 2024.

As per the official notification, the JEE Main January Session Result 2024 will be declared on February 12. Whereas, the result for the JEE Main April Session 2024 will be announced on April 25, 2024.
