Jets moving Mekhi Becton to left tackle in offensive line shuffle vs. Patriots

With the injury to left tackle Duane Brown, the Jets are making some major changes along the offensive line.

According to sources, Mekhi Becton will move from right tackle to left tackle against the Patriots on Sunday.

Becton started the first two games at right tackle but practiced at left tackle all week with Brown dealing with a hip injury.

Alijah Vera-Tucker will shift from right guard to right tackle, sources said. Vera-Tucker played four games at tackle last season.

Sources said he has been working at tackle for the past three weeks as a contingency plan.

Rookie Joe Tippmann will start at right guard.

Tippmann has not played yet after the Jets took him in the second round of the NFL Draft out of Wisconsin.

Tippmann was a center in college but did play some guard during training camp.

Left guard Laken Tomlinson and center Connor McGovern are the only starters staying at the same position as they have been in all season.

The Jets offensive line struggled last week against the Cowboys last week, allowing a lot of pressure.

The new lineup may fare better against the Patriots.
