Soweto system

Although the Soweto continue to stabilise, they are still impacted by night-time throttling, which lowers pressure and flow. The Zondi reservoir supply is currently at 60%, while the Power Park reservoir supply is at 50%.

“Areas fed by the Zondi reservoir, Doornkop reservoir and Power Park reservoir are affected by low pressure, while high-lying areas are affected by no water.”

Commando System

The overall average incoming supply pressure to the system is normal, however, roaming water tankers are still being provided to high-lying areas.

  • Brixton reservoir: The reservoir levels improved during the night, and it is supplying normally. The outlet continues to be closed overnight to boost capacity.
  • Brixton tower: The tower levels increased slightly overnight, and it is supplying normally. However, the levels decrease throughout the day due to consumption, which is expected.
  • Hursthill 1 and 2 reservoirs: Both reservoirs are low. The outlet will be closed tonight to boost capacity in the system.
  • Crosby reservoir: The reservoir is supplying normally. The inflows are greater than the outflows, which contributes to maintaining stable water levels.
