JOHN LUNDSTRAM has reportedly “reached an agreement” with a new club and is closing in on his Rangers exit.
The Light Blues midfielder, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to speak to other clubs over a free transfer in the summer.
Recent reports have suggested the former Sheffield United star is a target for the Turkish Super Lig club and he could join old team-mate Ryan Kent in the European country.
He has also been linked with a stunning move back to England with Premier League hopefuls Ipswich Town said to be interested in bringing him back down south.
But it’s Trabzonspor who are now leading the race for his signature as new reports suggest the midfielder is “nearing” a move to Turkey following positive talks with Abdullah Avci’s side.
That’s according to beIN Sports – who claim “an agreement in principle” has been reached between the player and club and discussions are now at an advanced stage.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement recently admitted that he would like the 30-year-old to extend his terms at Ibrox but it’s looking increasingly likely that he won’t be in Glasgow next season.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with St Mirren, the Belgian manager then revealed that the centre-mid has yet to put pen to paper over a new deal and his future in Govan remains in doubt.
He also confirmed that other clubs are circling the midfielder.
He said: “There have been offers from the club, there is no agreement yet. That is the only thing I can say at the moment.
“I hope that (he stays). I know he loves the club and to be here but it depends on what you can offer as a club and what other clubs are offering.
“That is why I don’t like that important players get to the end of their contracts. I don’t think it is a good thing for a club. It is something that will never happen again while I am here.”
Lundstram isn’t the only player who has been linked with a move away from Ibrox in recent days.
Ibrox stalwarts James Tavernier and Connor Goldson have been linked with a shock move to Saudi Arabia with Steven Gerrard reportedly keen to reunite with the pair at Al-Ettifaq.
But the manager insisted today that any interested clubs would need to fork out big fees to land the duo as they remain a big part of his plans in Glasgow.
He said: “It will cost a lot of money.
“We haven’t heard anything about that and they, for me, are two players who are important for next season too.
“I haven’t heard anything so I won’t go into older rumours because every week there are different rumours otherwise I have too much to talk about things that are not relevant.

“I don’t read or look at everything – it’s all noise and it’s good for you guys [in the media], it’s good for fans but I am only busy with the team and my players for the next game and preparing for that in a good way.”
