JoSAA, or the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, is aimed at streamlining the admission process for over 100 engineering institutes in India, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). Through JoSAA, candidates who qualify for either JEE Main or JEE Advanced can apply for admission to these institutes through a single platform.
Upon completing the JoSAA 2024 registration, candidates need to complete the choice-filling process by entering their preferences for institutes and engineering streams. Based on the choices selected by the candidates and the availability of seats in participating institutes, JoSAA will allot seats to the candidates.
JoSAA 2024 eligibility criteria
To appear in the seat allocation rounds, candidates need to fulfill the following criteria:
- All candidates who qualify for JEE Main 2024 will be allowed to appear for the seat allocation round.
- All candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced 2024 will also be eligible to appear for JoSAA 2024 counselling.
- Candidates must secure 75% in Class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the qualifying percentage is 65% for admission into IITs.

Step 4: After submitting the details, a new window comprising all the details of the candidate (as entered in JEE Main/JEE Advanced) will be displayed. Candidates must cross-check all the details diligently and then change their passwords.
Step 5: During the JoSAA counselling registration 2024, candidates will only be allowed to change their contact details. Candidates must provide a working contact number or email ID during the registration. Students must also verify all the details again and then click on the “Submit” button.
