French outerwear label Jott has appointed Sophie Metzker as its director of marketing and digital. Created in 2010 by the Gourdikian brothers, the Marseille-based company has been part of the L Catterton portfolio since 2021. The group has ambitious plans for the brand’s growth.
Sophie Metzker, who is taking over from Sonia Tautou in this role at Jott, previously served as the marketing and communications director for French leather goods brand Longchamp for a year. She has built her career in the luxury sector, starting at L’Oréal before becoming the international marketing director for Giorgio Armani Beauty from 2005 to 2009. She then briefly moved to the spirits industry at Rémy Cointreau, before joining the LVMH group in 2012 as the global marketing and communications director for Kenzo Fashion. In 2016, the luxury conglomerate appointed her to manage the Louis Vuitton store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, overseeing a staff of 90.
With a network of nearly 190 branded stores and numerous multi-brand retailers, Jott has recently expanded its French retail footprint with new openings in locations such as Nice Cap 3000, Bayonne, Echirolles, Megève, Valence, and Avignon. Under the leadership of Didier Lalance, the brand has also broadened its international presence, including a third London store opened last year on Carnaby Street and a new location in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Two years ago, the company set a goal to triple its annual sales from the 2022 figure of 150 million euros within five years (by 2027)
