Bellingham, 20, beat the likes of Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala and Barcelona’s Pedri to the accolade.

The England international became only the third Englishman to win the award as he followed in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling.

Father, Mark, could not contain his pride as he shared a lovely picture of Bellingham in his youth at Birmingham City.

The picture shows Bellingham standing for a picture in his Blues kit at an indoor pitch.

Alongside the picture, Mark wrote: “Kopa 2023 award for a good kid who’s growing into a good man.

“Happy for him.

“It’s a nice moment for all those teachers and coaches who have been part of the journey. Good people who kept it all fun.”

Bellingham commented on the post with an emoji of hands doing a heart shape.
