When Trevor Lawrence hit the ground on Monday with a high-ankle sprain, Jacksonville’s playoff hopes took a hit.
However, Lawrence surprised everyone outside the Jaguars’ inner circle by returning to start just six days later. In a game that turned out to be messy, the Jaguars lost to the Browns 31-27. Despite this, Lawrence displayed remarkable determination and agility, throwing for two touchdowns and 257 yards passing on 28 of 50 completions.
Jacksonville’s primary issue was their inability to maintain possession of the ball, resulting in four turnovers. Despite the chaos, Lawrence managed to get the ball back multiple times, but ultimately fell short in his attempts to secure a victory for his team.
Even though the game was messy, Lawrence’s resilience and potential were evident. The Browns managed to secure the win, but the game may have been a wild-card weekend preview. If so, both teams have room for improvement, and Jacksonville is hopeful for a more effective performance from a healthier Lawrence.
