Kaizer Chiefs star Keagan Dolly may have played his final game for the club. If this is his last season, it’s been a disappointing one, to say the least.
KAIZER CHIEFS FIVE BEST MONTHLY SALARIES
- Keagan Dolly – R1,4 Million
- Itumeleng Khune – R480,000
- Zitha Kwinika – R370,000
- Ashley du Preez – R300,000
- Yusuf Maart – R300,000
Ability didn’t meet end-product
Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs must wait longer than planned for ex-Montpellier and SUndowns man Keagan Dolly to return from injury. The attacking midfielder fractured a toe and could miss the remainder of the campaign. He has played just EIGHT times across all competitions this season, including seven in the league with a solitary assist. Is that good enough for a player boasting his calibre, experience and salary?
31-year-old Dolly is the best-paid player at the club, earning R1.4 Million a month. Itumeleng Khune, next on that list, earns less than a third of Dolly’s salary. Both players are expected to leave Naturena at the end of the campaign freeing up space on the wage bill. We’ve put together a dream transfer wish list which would cost the club around R69 Million to tick off. Who would you sell to offset that vast expenditure?
Mokwana is a wanted man
According to a report from iDiski Times, it would take R35 million to prize Elias Mokwana, Babina Noko’s jewel in the crown, away from Sekhukhune. Let’s be realistic, that number will drop sharply once Sekhukhune receives some formal offers for the Bafana Bafana man. He’s got four goals and four assists in 18 league appearances this term, a stellar output for a wideman.
