Kaizer Chiefs kill two birds with one stone

Kaizer Chiefs have killed two birds with one stone by recruiting Angolan star Inacio Miguel.

Inacio Miguel will soon land at Kaizer Chiefs

Portugal-born Angolan star Inacio Miguel is on the brink of a switch to Chiefs. The 28-year-old will bring obvious experience and versatility; a central defender by trade but is comfortable at the base of midfield. Since Chiefs are stacked in central defence with Given Msimango, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and new boy Rushwin Dortley, maybe Miguel’s major game time will come in the engine room and not at the back. Either way, his arrival gives Nasreddine Nabi a new level of tactical flexibility. Two players in one. Born equidistant between Portugal’s capital Lisbon and the legendary surf spot Peniche in a municipality named Torres Vedras, Miguel has five caps for Angola.

Reports on Tuesday via Unplayable on X indicate that United States MLS side St. Louis City are unsure whether to trigger Njabulo Blom’s two-year extension option on his current deal. The 24-year-old was a key component of their side under Bradley Carnell but the team’s fortunes have changed significantly since the South African manager was sacked. In 2023, they finished the Western Conference at the summit. In 2024, they’re second-bottom after 25 outings. There’s a clamour among Amakhosi fans for Chiefs to bring Blom back. Are you one of them?
