‘Kaizer Chiefs must sign Kermit Erasmus’

Most too many Kaizer Chiefs supporters will agree with Junior Khanye. The former winger says Amakhosi should go for Kermit Erasmus.

KERMIT ERASMUS LEAVES ORLANDO PIRATES

Not every player remains at one club forever, especially at places like Orlando Pirates. Kermit Erasmus has left the Sea Robbers.

After spending most of his time on the bench, the 33-year-old from Gqeberha has been move on.

“Kermit rejoined the Buccaneers in 2022 after nine years away and made an immediate impact by helping us clinch the MTN8 title. With over 117 matches under his belt in Pirates colours, Romeo, has solidified his legendary status at the club,” Orlando Pirates said.

KAIZER CHIEFS OPPORTUNITY

According to Khanye, the 33-year-old Erasmus still has the quality to add value and quality at Kaizer Chiefs.

“I’d love to see him signing for Kaizer Chiefs,” Khanye said. on iDiski TV.

“I do believe Kaizer Chiefs can offer something. But Chiefs might not want to because they might look at his age because in South Africa, once you are 34, 35, they label you that you can’t play anymore.

“I don’t understand where this comes from because there are top players who are still playing for their countries at 36, 37 and they are still scoring.

“Ronaldo scored two goals now for Portugal. He is 38 turning 39, the same age as me, but he is still wearing the armband for Portugal and scoring.

“So why not Kermit at the age of 34 [33]? For me he is still good enough to play for Kaizer Chiefs. I think Chiefs should sign him as well,” Khanye concluded.

SIBUSISO MABALISO RETURN

Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Sibusiso Mabiliso was fortunate to find a well-established club in AmaZulu, but things don’t always work out.

August 2022 saw Mabiliso leave Amakhosi after just appearances in gold and black. The former Platinum Stars defender was later released by AmaZulu in January after just two matches for the 25-year-old star from Legid, North West.

According to FARPost, the former Kaizer Chiefs lefty has attracted interest from next season’s DStv Premiership rookies Magesi FC, as well as Richards Bay.

“Despite his recent struggles, Mabiliso’s pedigree as a youth international and his potential as a dynamic left-back have not gone unnoticed. Two PSL clubs – newly promoted Magesi FC and Richards Bay – are reportedly keen to secure his services, offering him a lifeline to reignite his career at the highest level, the report said.

“Magesi are looking to beef up their squad with experience while Richards Bay are still fighting to maintain their top-flight status in the ongoing relegation/promotion playoffs,” the outlet concluded.
