Kaizer Chiefs have signed youngster Kamogelo Malefo from the intriguingly named Tika Taka Sports Academy.
TIKI TAKA CONFIRM MALEFO TO KAIZER CHIEFS
Tika Taka released the following statement:
“We are happy to announce that Kamogelo Malefo has officially joined the Kaizer Chiefs Under 19 Development. Kamogelo showcased his exceptional skills and talent during the assessment process, standing out as a true standout among his peers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management team at Kaizer Chiefs for recognising Stumbo’s potential and providing him with this remarkable chance to shine on the field. Your belief in his abilities means the world to us!”
MALEFO IS PROLIFIC AT YOUTH LEVEL
Chiefs’ newest youth recruit bagged 16 goals and supplied 18 assists in 18 games last season. The 18-year-old will join the club’s U19 structures and go from there. The step up to senior football is a steep one but this is a name we’ll be watching in the months and years to come.
LESOTHO STAR TUMELO SHAI PUSHING FOR A PLACE IN CHIEFS FIRST TEAM
On the subject of youngsters, 18-year-old Tumelo Shai will be desperate to impress this season if and when he gets opportunities in the senior side. He, along with Mfundo Obrigado Vilakazi and Takalani Mazhamba, are the teenagers currently pushing for game time with the senior stars. He is a full Lesotho international. Could he make an impact this season? If Nkosingiphile Ngcobo continues to struggle with his fitness, Shai just might.
