Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has linked up with his Mozambican teammates hours after his side’s 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United.
Dove will be representing his country at next year’s AFCON tournament in the Ivory Coast.
Mozambique have already assembled in Johannesburg for their pre-tournament camp meaning there’ll be no rest for Dove ahead of the continental showpiece.
Os Mambas have been drawn in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Ghana and Egypt. Their first fixture is on 14 January 2024 against Egypt.

“Look I think we have enough quality in the team, I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyse them as part of the Chiefs family,” Johnson told iDiskiTimes
“I think that needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves.
“If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
