Kaizer Chiefs target talented Bafana midfielder from hot rivals!

Kaizer Chiefs are gunning for a top-class Bafana Bafana midfielder with plenty of PSL experience under his belt.

Kaizer Chiefs want Bafana midfielder Margeman

Local publication iDiski Times believe that Chiefs want to sign Grant Margeman from SuperSport. The dynamic 26-year-old former Sundowns midfielder man has two caps for South Africa. Margeman made 28 appearances in the league for Matsatsantsa, contributing a goal and four assists.

“SuperSport United midfielder Grant Margeman has attracted interest from Kaizer Chiefs after a scintillating 2023/34 season. Chiefs are said to be looking at Margerman, should they look to bolster their midfield options in the upcoming season but Matsatsantsa are not keen on the idea of his exit” wrote the publication.

Chiefs midfield has numbers but lacks quality

Throughout 2023-2024, interim boss Cavin Johnson mixed and matched his central midfield combinations with very little luck. Samkelo Zwane fell out of favour, Sabelo Radebe hardly makes matchday squads while experienced, but much-maligned star Siyethemba Sithebe became a regular pick. Even Edson Castillo, a full Venezuela international, is out in the cold. A reliable, box-to-box player is definitely something the Glamour Boys desperately need.

LEBO MOTHIBA TALKING TO AMAKHOSI?

Lebo Mothiba is no longer a Strasbourg player after his six-year stint in the Northeast of France came to an end. Soccer-Laduma believes negotiations between Mothiba’s representatives and Kaizer Chiefs are moving along nicely. Mothiba has 14 caps for South Africa and four goals, but his last appearance in national colours was in October 2023.

“They are still talking. It’s not a done deal but negotiations are underway. Doubts are still there because he has just recovered from injury but they are expecting a final decision in the next few days. The team wants experienced strikers who can work with the youth and help the team going forward. And they feel Lebo (Mothiba) could be that player at the moment,” said a source.
