Kaizer Chiefs to announce 4 Africans

Next season promises to be exciting for the mighty Kaizer Chiefs supporters. Highly-reliable sources say Nasreddine Nabi is set to arrive with his own technical team.

NEW KAIZER CHIEFS TECHNICAL TEAM

As reported across local media, the Tunisian coach Nabi has agreed to coach Amakhosi next season after finishing his term with AS Rabat in Morocco. According to the Moroccan journalist Ahmed Adala, Nabi will join Kaizer Chiefs with three assistants: Khalil Ben Youssef, Ilyes Mzoughi and a Tunisian physical trainer. The unnnamed Tunisian trainer is believed to be Orlando Pirates’ Helmy Gueldich, who previously worked with Nabi at Young Africans in Tanzania.

“Last season, Nasreddine Nabi was very close to taking control of Kaizer Chiefs! This time it’s the right one,” Adala reported via X.

“Nabi, 2nd in the Moroccan championship with AS FAR (one point behind champion Raja), will be Kaizer’s coach next season.

“The Tunisian, Champion of Tanzania and finalist of the 2023 CAF Cup with Young Africans, winner of the same competition while coaching AC Leopards in 2012, will first finish the season with his current club in Morocco before leaving in South Africa.

“Nabi will be accompanied in his new mission by Khalil Ben Youssef, Ilyes Mzoughi and a Tunisian physical trainer. AS FAR will play in the semi-final of the Coupe du Trône against Maghreb Fez in a few days,” the reporter concluded.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are expected to make the announcement in the next few hours or days.

WHAT KAIZER MOTAUNG JR SAID

“It’s a something we communicated from the onset — Cavin has stepped in on an interim basis and we’re [committed] to having a different technical structure next season,”said the club’s Sporting Director, as cited by TimesLive.

“I know we are focused on the next game and the next seven games and we have everything to play for. But yes, definitely the plans have long been in motion — we’ll be having a different technical structure next season.

“Well, you know, it’s our shortlist but who makes that shortlist? From our side we’ve been preparing for a while now and at the appropriate time we’ll make the right announcements,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss concluded.
