SAN FRANCISCO — Catcalls rained down from several Chase Center sections. The Warriors looked more lost and listless than at any other point of this dwindling dynasty. Owner Joe Lacob bolted from his front-row seat the instant the buzzer sounded and speed-walked off the court after another blowout loss. With the trade deadline beckoning and the Warriors’ massive payroll just sitting there.
If this wasn’t the unofficial and visceral end of this glorious run, you sure could see it from here.
Even Stephen Curry, the standard-bearer, seemed to acknowledge parts of this existential moment — some things about the Warriors Dynasty are gone and aren’t coming back. It serves no good to pretend otherwise, especially after back-to-back blowout losses to close this awful seven-game home stand. The only wise path is to be honest with themselves, salvage what they can, regroup, reassess their roster and strategy and figure out what to do by the Feb. 8 deadline.
Ignoring the team’s obvious flaws wouldn’t just be silly, it would be, well, insane.
