KEA KSET 2023 results announced: 6,675 candidates qualified for assistant professorship

KSET 2023 Results Announced: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the provisional results for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2023, conducted on 13th January 2024. This significant milestone marks the first time KEA has organised KSET for Assistant Professorship eligibility in the state. The test, conducted in offline mode, covered 41 subjects and was held across seven centres in Karnataka, with a total of 117,303 candidates registering for the exam.Out of these, 95,201 candidates appeared for both papers, and 6,675 candidates have qualified across all categories and subjects.
The KSET 2023 results are a culmination of a meticulous process designed to ensure transparency and fairness. Initially, the provisional answer keys were made available on the KEA website, allowing candidates to raise objections. These objections were reviewed by experts, and the results were processed based on the finalised answer keys. The provisional scores were also notified to inform candidates of their performance.
In line with the UGC guidelines and the state’s reservation policy, the merit list was prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates. The selection process involved several steps:
1) Determination of Total Slots: The number of candidates to be qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professorship was set at 6% of those who appeared in both papers.
2) Merit List Preparation: Among those who cleared the first step, a merit list was created subject-wise and category-wise, using the aggregate marks from both papers.
3) Eligibility Criteria: To be considered eligible for Assistant Professorship, candidates needed to secure at least 40% aggregate marks if they belonged to the unreserved category, and 35% for reserved categories including SC, ST, Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB, PWD, and transgender candidates from non-creamy layers.
