Usher and Keke Palmer are stirring up controversy with their viral Las Vegas dance in Usher’s new music video for “Boyfriend.”
Their dance to Usher’s “There Goes My Baby” during one of his Las Vegas shows became a hot topic online after Palmer’s partner, Darius Jackson, publicly criticized her revealing outfit. Jackson wrote about Palmer, who is also a mother, “It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.”
Palmer responded with the music video, which premiered on Usher’s YouTube account.
In the video, Palmer gets ready for a night out in a Las Vegas casino. She sings along to Usher’s “U Remind Me” in the elevator and later meets Usher in the lobby. Palmer then channels Usher’s swagger and dances with him across the casino floor.
Usher sings in “Boyfriend,” “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s lookin’ for me / Well, he should know I’m pretty easy to find / Just look for me wherever he sees you.”
The video concludes with Palmer waking up in her hotel room, realizing it was all a dream. She playfully acknowledges her motherhood before the video ends.
Palmer expressed her admiration for Usher in a social media post promoting the video and thanked him for making a dream come true.
This is the first time Palmer has publicly addressed the drama that started with Jackson’s post. However, Palmer previously offered words of wisdom to new moms in an interview with the Cut.
Palmer encouraged new moms to be themselves, emphasizing the unconditional love of their child.
