Kelly Clarkson has been showing off a noticeably smaller frame on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” — and now the talk show host is revealing how she “dropped weight.”
The “American Idol” Season 1 winner revealed in People’s new cover story that relocating to New York City helped with her wellness routine.
“Walking in the city is quite the workout. I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down,” she said, via Today.
As for her diet, “I eat a healthy mix,” she explained.
“I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t,” she went on. “And 90% of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”
The “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer hasn’t said goodbye to all desserts, however.
“But I still splurge,” she told the outlet. “The other night I had a frozen yogurt with my daughter, and it was magical.”
Clarkson previously discussed losing 37 pounds in a 2018 interview with Hoda Kotb.
“I know the industry loves the weight gone, but for me it wasn’t really the weight,” she said at the time.
And in November, she bonded over weight struggles with Jenna and Barbara Bush during her NBC show.
When Barbara said she had a “stage” of being chubby, Clarkson chimed in.
“I had a stage. I’ve had many stages,” she noted. “I love losing weight, but here’s the thing … Jeans are so hard when you have a butt and a smaller waist.”
Clarkson shares River Rose, 9, and son Remington, 7, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. After their nasty divorce, the musician moved to New York.
“I knew I needed a fresh start and couldn’t be in L.A. I really wanted to be in Montana, but you can’t really do a show from there quite yet. So I was like, ‘The only other option would probably be New York,” she told USA Today in October.
