Kolkata Police SI recruitment exam date released, admit cards available from Jan 18; Check details

The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB) has officially released the Kolkata Police Sub Inspector (KP SI) recruitment exam dates for 2024.
According to the recent notification, the date of written examination is January 28, 2024. Admit cards will be made available for the registered candidates on January 18, 2024 – on the official portal at prb.wb.gov.in.
The recruitment drives aims to fill 300+ vacancies of Sub Inspector/Sub Inspectress (unarmed branch), Sub Inspector (armed branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police.
The WBPRB in its notice WBPRB/NOTICE-2024/04 (SI KP 23) stated, “The date of Preliminary Examination for recruitment to the post of Sub- Inspector/Sub-Inspectress (Unarmed Branch), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police – 2023 has been scheduled on 28.01.2024 (Sunday).”
Further regarding the availability of the written exam admit cards, the notice read, “The e- Admit Card will be available on the websites of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (https://prb.wb.gov.in) & West Bengal Police (https://wbpolice.gov.in) from 18.01.2024 on keying of their Application Serial No. and Date of Birth. The candidates shall have to produce the printout of their e-Admit cards at the allotted venues for appearing in the said exam with a proper and original proof of identity.”
Selection process
The Kolkata Police SI Exam 2024 Selection Process comprises four stages to shortlist candidates for 309 positions of Sub-Inspector/Sub-Inspectress (Unarmed Branch), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch), and Sergeant. The initial stage involves a Preliminary Written Examination, which is of a qualifying nature, and the final merit list is determined based on candidates’ performance in the subsequent three stages.
The subsequent stages include a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in Stage 2, followed by the Final Combined Competitive Exam in Stage 3. The process concludes with Stage 4, which involves a Personality Test.
The board has issued specific guidelines for candidates participating in the upcoming exam. It is emphasized that items such as mobile phones, Bluetooth-enabled hearing devices, portable scanners, digital wristwatches (including smartwatches), calculators, or any other materials for cheating are strictly prohibited from being taken into the exam venue. Strict legal action will be taken against individuals found in possession of these items at the time of entry or during the course of the exam. Additionally, the wearing of high-heeled footwear is also prohibited. It is crucial to note that any form of canvassing during the recruitment process will result in the cancellation of candidature without the possibility of recourse to representation. Candidates are advised to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the examination.
