Kwinana Freeway is banked up from Jandakot towards the Narrows Bridge as major crash officers head to the scene of a serious motorcycle crash.
Kwinana Freeway heading south between Berrigan Drive and Armadale Road has been closed to the public as emergency services respond to a collision in Jandakot, which occurred about 2pm.
Police say a male motorcycle rider collided with a truck heading in the same direction where he suffered serious injuries.
“Traffic congestion is heavy in the area and along the southbound lanes of the freeway up until the Narrows Bridge,” a police spokeswoman said.
“Motorists are urged to seek an alternative route.”
A St John spokeswoman confirmed ambulance crews were at the scene.
It comes after a 47-year-old man was killed in a motorbike crash in Como on Thursday morning.

The fatal incident happened just before 9am when the man’s black Honda motorcycle was travelling north on Canning Highway.
Police say he collided with a black and grey Nissan Navara utility at the intersection of Preston Street.
The motorbike rider — a 47-year-old man — died at the scene.
