The first entries for the 128th renewal of the R5 million Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July have been unveiled by Gold Circle as the countdown to the race commenced in earnest.
According to the SportingPost website, a total of 58 entries were received.
Last year’s top two finishers, Winchester Mansion and See It Again, have also been included.
Hollywoodbets have updated their odds for the race to be run at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, 6 July.
Michael Roberts’ star See It Again, who disappointed with a below-par run in the WSB Cape Town Met at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth in late January when finishing fourth in a field of 11, is the current favourite at 4/1.
Gimme A Nother, Royal Victory and Green With Envy are all available at 7/1.
Justin Snaith’s Mucho Dinero, who was a late scratching from the Cape Town Met, is next best at 8/1.
Defending champion Winchester Mansion is on offer at 10/1.

Only 20 horses will be carded – 18 + 2 reserves. The reserves will be scratched by 08:15 on Friday, 5 July.
