Kering wants to strengthen its global visibility and control its image. To this end, the French luxury group chaired by François-Henri Pinault has announced the creation of the role of Kering Brand Director.
A loyal Kering executive has been chosen to take on this challenge. Laurent Claquin, President of Kering Americas since 2012 and with the Group since 2005, will take up his new post on July 1, 2024. He will report to Jean-Marc Duplaix, the deputy CEO in charge of operations and finance. He will also join the Group’s Executive Committee.
The Group’s former vice-president of communications and CSR, who was previously chief of staff to the Minister of Culture, will aim to “strengthen the appeal of the Kering corporate brand and increase the Group’s visibility and influence. Laurent Claquin’s responsibility will be to define and coordinate Kering’s communications, both externally and internally, in all regions, following a unified calendar and editorial strategy,” the group explained in a press release.
He will also have a role with the fashion, leather goods, jewellery, beauty and optical brands that make up the group, “amplifying their communications where appropriate and creating exceptional events to support their initiatives.”
