A detailed new Lego model of the Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole has been unveiled and will be available from July 4. The model is part of Lego’s Icons series, including cars like the original Land Rover Defender 90, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Porsche 930 Turbo, and Fiat 500.

The Lego model consists of 1,506 pieces and costs $299 in the U.S. In the world of supercars, few models are more iconic than the Countach, and the 5000 QV is arguably the most iconic of the series.

Unlike the original versions of the Countach, which had a 3.9-liter naturally aspirated V12, the 5000 QV had a much larger 5.2-liter engine. It also adopted six new Weber carburetors and was good for 449 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) in European specification. Just over 600 units were produced, and approximately 10% of these models adopted a fuel-injected engine.

The model recreated by Lego has the iconic rear wing of the 5000 QV which was not found on the original Countach. It has also been presented with the same simple wheels as the real-life supercar and is adorned with a bright red interior. What’s particularly impressive is that the model has scissor doors and even a functional steering. Lego fans and car enthusiasts will also be pleased to see it features a scale model of the Lamborghini’s beloved V12.

Fans of the Countach who are unwilling to part ways with $299 can buy a simpler version through Lego’s Speed Champion series. This smaller model costs just $32.99 and consists of 262 pieces. It’s based on the 5000 QV and is also finished in white with a red interior.
