Lenny Kravitz delivered a medley of songs from his 35-year career at the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday. He also received the Music Icon Award during the event.
Kravitz started in the audience before strutting up the catwalk to join his band at the mainstage, where he performed “Fly Away,” “TK421,” “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” “Let Love Rule,” and “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”
In his acceptance speech for the Music Icon Award, he emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself and the power of love.
Kravitz also had advice for aspiring artists, urging them to set their own pace and be authentic.
He concluded by emphasizing the unifying power of music and the need for love and unity in the world.
Before his performance, Kravitz reflected on his creative process with NBC affiliate KGET.
Kravitz will be releasing his 12th studio album, Blue Electric Light, on May 24. He also honored Clarence Avant during the In Memoriam segment at the awards.
Kravitz performed alongside Kylie Minogue and Lainey Wilson at the ceremony, which took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and was hosted by Simu Liu. The People’s Choice Awards are determined by votes from the public and recognize the best in film, TV, music, and pop culture.
