Liam Payne cancels latest tour amid kidney infection, rehab

Liam Payne has postponed a planned South American tour as he continues to recover from a kidney infection.

“This really is the last news I want to be telling you but basically I’ve been a little bit unwell recently,” the One Direction alum addressed fans in an Instagram video Friday.

“I ended up in hospital with a bad kidney infection. We started rehearsals and I’ve been advised that now is really not the right time to be traveling on the road while I recover from this.”

The “Strip That Down” songster added that he has “the best people around me at home trying to help me recover ” and his team will work to reschedule the tour.

Last month, the boy band grad revealed he spent 100 days in a rehab facility to “get well” after a public spat with his former One Direction bandmates on Logan Paul’s “Impulsive” podcast.

“I kind of became somebody who I didn’t recognize and I’m sure you didn’t either,” Payne told fans in a YouTube video on July 8.

“I was in bad shape up to that point. I was really happy more than anything when I arrived to kind of put a stopper on life and work. I didn’t have my phone for nearly 100 days,” he added.

One Direction has been on hiatus since 2015.
