LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK
On Sunday, Eskom said the suspension of load shedding from 5:00 until 16:00 and the implementation of Stage 2 from 16:00 until 5:00 the next day will be repeated daily from Monday until further notice.
“This is as a result of the recovery of emergency reserves, the return of three generating units and the anticipated weekday demand,” the power utility said.

TIPS TO MITIGATE AGAINST RISKS CAUSED BY ROLLING BLACKOUTS/POWER OUTAGES:
- Make use of surge protection: Electric surges are one of the biggest causes of damage to equipment during a power outage. Installing a surge protection device can help minimise some damage in unforeseen situations. Have a surge protection device fitted to your electrical distribution board or at the power outlet to the electronic device.
- Ensure that your alarm system is working and the backup battery is fully functional to provide power to the system in the event of load shedding.
- Spare torch or headlamp: Keep a torch in your car if you arrive home at night during a power outage. Most smartphones have built-in torch or torch apps, which come in handy during unexpected outages.
