Logan Paul calls out WWE’s Rey Mysterio after exhibition bout win

Logan Paul returned to the boxing ring on Saturday and was victorious in the sport he calls his “hobby,” but his mind turned back right back to the WWE.

The 28-year-old social media sensation defeated Dillon Danis via disqualification in the sixth and final round of their exhibition bout Saturday in Manchester, England.

“This is a hobby for me,” Paul said. “My true passion, I’m a WWE superstar. … I’m an American boy, and I want that U.S. title. Rey Mysterio, I already beat you once and I’m coming for that U.S. championship.”

Of course, the 48-year-old Mysterio, a Mexican wrestling legend, didn’t let Paul’s chatter go unanswered.

“Did @loganpaul just call me out? I’m not hard to find homie,” Mysterio posted on X. “Every Friday Night on SmackDown.”

Paul is expected to return to WWE action at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Nov. 4, according to ESPN.

He hasn’t fought in WWE since he beat Ricochet at SummerSlam at Ford Field in Detroit on Aug. 5.

As for the exhibition bout, Paul dominated against Danis — a four-time jiu-jitsu champion who has trained with Conor McGregor — by using his jab, winning every round before the sixth, which devolved into chaos.

The 30-year-old Danis tried to execute a takedown of Paul in the sixth round, drawing a one-point deduction for the attempt.

He tried another takedown in final seconds of the bout, leading Paul to throw a hammer fist.

The antics forced security to enter the ring as officials tried to restore order.

“Dillon Danis truly is a coward,” Paul said after the bout. “I forgave Dillon before this fight started. It was the only way to attack this fight without emotion. … But he was calling himself a real fighter? … Conor McGregor, you see that?”

The fight was the co-feature to a pro bout between KS1 — Paul’s Prime energy drink business partner, KSI — and Tommy Fury, the 24-year-old half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Fury (10-0, four KOs) — who handed Logan’s brother, Jake, his first pro boxing loss in February — prevailed over KSI by the scores of 57-56, 57-56 and 57-57.

Jake Paul, who is 7-1 in his boxing career, scored a victory over Nate Diaz in his last bout which was on the same day as Logan’s SummerSlam victory.
