Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2: The Election Commission of India has released the schedule for the ongoing General Elections 2024. According to the schedule, the country will go for polling in seven phases, spread across a period of nearly three months.
Today, on April 19th, the country underwent the first phase of elections in multiple states such as Arunachal, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram and Sikkim in the Northeastern region.Other major states include West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir. According to the Election Commission, nearly 60% of polling has been completed as of 5 PM in Phase One of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

According to the schedule prepared by the Election Commission of India, multiple states will see their first round of voting, while some states will see their second phase of voting on April 26, 2024.

On election day, schools and colleges remain closed. General elections are held for a variety of reasons.
