A MAN has died and a teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after a horror crash in a Scots city.
The pair were in a silver Volkswagen Tiguan when it crashed into a wall on Corstrorphine Road in Edinburgh.
Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene at the junction with Balgreen Road at 10.50 last night.
The 29-year-old man driving the car was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Ambulance crews raced the 17-year-old male passenger of the car to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Medics say the teen is currently fighting for life in a critical condition.
Police locked down the road for eight hours as they launched a probe into the fatal crash.
Traffic cops have urged anyone with information that could aid their investigation to come forward.
Sergeant Louise Birrell of Edinburgh Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family of the man who died and our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the crash or who has dash-cam footage that might help with our enquiries to get in touch.”
