Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after horror hit-and-run in Glasgow

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on a busy Glasgow road in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the city’s Great Western Road, close to Warden Road, after the hit-and-run.

Officers also scrambled to the area after receiving reports of the crash at around 1.15am.

When they arrived, they found a 50-year-old man injured on the road.

He was rushed to hospital and medics have described his condition as serious.

Cops locked down the street in Glasgow city centre while a full crash investigation was carried out.

Police have now launched a manhunt to find the driver of the car.

They have confirmed that enquires into the circumstances behind the incident are currently ongoing.

And they are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

Cops are urging anyone who may have seen something, or anyone who may have witnessed the crash, to speak with officers.

They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who has dashcam footage of the area from around the time.

Police Sergeant Sean Dempsey of the Road Policing Unit said: “I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0264 of 19 November.”
