MANCHESTER UNITED made up for last season’s Anfield hammering by bagging a point against Liverpool today.
The Red Devils sealed a 0-0 draw despite being second-best on the pitch.
And it was gladly received by supporters following last term’s humiliating 7-0 thrashing.
Jonny Evans had a fine game for United, while Rasmus Hojlund looked shaky up top.
But who else played well on Merseyside? And did any other players have a game to forget?
Here, SunSport’s Kieran Davies delivers his Man Utd player ratings vs Liverpool…
Andre Onana – 6
Did not really have much to do but looked very dodgy trying to play the ball out from the back and hit it straight out for a throw in so many times, it invited pressure onto his side.
Diogo Dalot – 6
Had a decent game up until the point he was shown a second yellow card for dissent. Did not really affect this game but he will miss their next game.
Jonny Evans – 8
The veteran defender was the stand out player for the visitors.
Constantly commanding to the other defenders, leading by example.

Raphael Varane – 7
Won most of the aerial duels and made Liverpool’s set pieces seem poor.
Luke Shaw – 7
Got a silly yellow card late on.
Gave the ball away a few times but did enough to make it an extremely quiet game for both Salah and Alexander-Arnold.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6
Did not do much to stand out, but did not make many mistakes.
Grafted but added very little.
Sofyan Amrabat – 6
Tried to break up play but lunges in all too often.
When Liverpool attacked at pace, resorts to fouling the player all too often.
Antony – 6
One of his better performances for Man Utd, offered an outlet when they were under pressure.
Lacks the final ball to create chances all too often though.
Scott McTominay – 6
Expected a lot more considering he was given the captain’s armband.
Very anonymous performance.
Alejandro Garnacho – 6
Tried to get at Alexander-Arnold in the first half but goes to ground far too easily.
Fizzled out of the game in the second half.
Rasmus Hojlund – 4
Offered so little as the main striker, the best chance of the game fell to him and he drilled it into Alisson’s chest with the keeper knowing little about it.
Lacking confidence and does not look a natural goalscorer when through on goal.
