Expansion in the American market remains at the core of Mango’s development strategy. After making its debut in Texas and Georgia in early August, the Barcelona-based fashion company has inaugurated its first point of sale in Los Angeles County.

Located at Los Cerritos Center, a shopping mall situated between Los Angeles and Orange counties, Mango’s new establishment occupies an area of 400 square meters. Additionally, this store opening coincides with the launch of a new 460-square-meter store at the Glendale Galleria shopping center, also located in Los Angeles County.

As stated by the Spanish fashion company, both stores retail the brand’s women’s line and feature the brand’s new Mediterranean-inspired store concept. The brand’s new interior design aesthetic, dubbed ‘New Med’, has been incorporated into recently opened spaces. It is characterized by neutral colors and warm tones, combined with the use of traditional and artisanal materials.

“After the excellent reception of Mango in New York and Miami and the recent arrival in Texas and Georgia, we are very excited to bring the brand experience to California for the first time as part of our ambitious development plan for the coming months in the United States, one of our key markets in the coming years,” said Daniel López, Mango’s director of expansion and franchises, in a statement released on Thursday, August 7.

Recently, Mango landed in Texas with a space covering over 350 square meters. Furthermore, its expansion in the region includes the opening of establishments in shopping centers, such as The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, North Star Mall in San Antonio, Galleria Dallas in Dallas, La Plaza Mall in McAllen, Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, and Baybrook Mall in Houston. Last August, Mango arrived in Georgia with the launch of a store of over 600 square meters at Perimeter Mall.

Throughout 2023, Mango aims to open around 15 stores in the United States, especially in the western and southern parts of the country. Specifically, the company will strengthen its presence in California with the opening of four establishments: one at Fashion Valley shopping center in San Diego and three in the city of Los Angeles: Brea Mall, Victoria Gardens, and Beverly Center, located in Beverly Hills.

Coinciding with the inauguration of its first flagship store on Fifth Avenue in May of last year, the company led by Isak Andic initiated an expansion plan in the United States. This project involved the opening of approximately 30 establishments over three years with the goal of reaching 40 stores by 2024, including independent spaces as well as their presence in shopping centers. Similarly, the challenge for the Barcelona-based brand is to position the American market among its top five countries in terms of revenue volume.

Mango’s presence in the United States dates back to 2006. Since then, the retail chain has increased its commitment to the region with the renovation of the Mango SoHo store in 2017 and the signing of an agreement with Macy’s in 2019. Two years later, the brand opened four spaces in New Jersey, New York, and Miami. At the end of the previous fiscal year, Mango operated a total of 10 physical establishments in the country, where it also has an online presence through its website and the respective sites of Macy’s and Nordstrom.
