Margot Robbie: Barbie star joins SAG-AFTRA strike in West Hollywood

Margot Robbie stuck to her word and put her box office power on the line to support the ongoing double actors and writers strike in Hollywood.

The 33-year-old Barbie star added some A-list fire power when she stepped out with a placard and marched from Netflix to Paramount Studios in West Hollywood.

Protesters were served up double blonde ambition as Robbie was joined by fellow Aussie star and doppelganger, 31-year-old Nine Perfect Strangers actress Samara Weaving.

The Writers Guild of America shutdown began in May and Robbie threw her support behind the actors on the eve of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

She said she “absolutely” backed the walkout.

“I am very much in support of all the unions. I am a part of SAG so I am absolutely stand by that,” said Robbie, who starred in Greta Gerwig’s plastic doll fantasy-comedy, which has become the biggest-grossing movie of the year around the globe amassing over $2 billion.

Robbie and her fellow acting stars are demanding for pay rises to match inflation.

They also want protections from AI technology amid fears it could take away many film and TV jobs.

Heading towards a third month it is the first double Hollywood strike in 60 years.
