OLD TEAM, NEW FORMAT: Sara Battaglia returns for her third collaboration with Marina Rinaldi, but with a different format. The two brands presented a see now, buy now collection with an event on Tuesday in Milan at Villa Necchi. The collection dropped on Wednesday on Marina Rinaldi’s e-commerce, brand stores and select multibrand retailers.
The collection includes bright colors such as turquoise and pink but also some black and white. The clothes are available starting from size 44, nodding to the brand’s signature inclusivity ethos.
The cape dress, Sara Battaglia’s signature model, returns with a double neckline. The turquoise broderie anglaise dress on the front recalls a classic shirt dress while on the back it gains volume thanks to the godet cut of the fabric, and the same contrast of shapes is also found in poplin or broderie anglaise shirts. Large ruffles decorate a one-shoulder dress.
The highlight of the collection is the Marina Bag, cubic, with a single handle with an elongated line and in a leather-effect metallic material. The name is inspired, like the entire capsule, by the song “Marina” by Italian singer Rocco Granata.
The two brands previously teamed in February 2022 and in February 2023 for capsule collections.
The brand, under the Max Mara Group umbrella, has a tradition of tie-ups. Previously it has worked with the likes of Mary Katrantzou, Marco de Vincenzo, Tsumori Chisato, Stella Jean, Fausto Puglisi and Antonio Berardi, to name a few. In February the brand collaborated with Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, known for his couture and bridal creations, on a capsule collection for special occasions and celebrations.
