The Marlins are suggesting to teams they are willing to listen on almost everyone (everyone but right-hander Eury Perez, one rival said). It’s uncertain, but could that include back-to-back batting champion Luis Arraez?
One rival exec says “everything is on the table” for the Marlins. But the consensus is the greatest likelihood is they deal either Jesus Luzardo or Edward Cabrera.
One rival said Arraez should probably go since he’s two years from free agency “and they have zero chance to hold onto him [long term].”
Jordan Hicks’ market is heating up. The Phillies, Cubs, Rangers, Astros and Yankees all could make sense. Some have considered Hicks as a starter. The Phillies, looking for a hard-throwing right-hander, are thought in on Robert Stephenson as well as Hicks.
Josh Hader deserves to be the highest paid reliever. Edwin Diaz leads the pack at $102 million for five years ($94M counting deferred dollars).
The Orioles have considered every starter from Marcus Stroman on down (they couldn’t seriously consider Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery “unless the market collapsed.”) Baltimore also has been eying James Paxton.
