Love is, once again, in the air as another Aussie soccer star agreed to tie the knot with their beau, making for the third Matildas engagement in the past seven months
Aussie soccer player Ellie Carpenter and Dutch soccer player Danielle van de Donk made their engagement Instagram official on Monday.
In a post shared by the love birds, a massive diamond ring shines on Carpenter’s manicured fingers while the midfielder snuggles up behind her.
Van de Donk referred lovingly to her defender and fiancee, captioning the happy news: “My person for life ❤️💍!!”
The proposal comes after power couple — Matildas captain and Aussie icon Sam Kerr and her fellow soccer star Kristie Mews — made their love a forever thing with an engagement in November.
Prior to that beautiful show of love, Matildas midfielder Emily van Egmond agreed to seal the deal with influencer Kat Thompson in a romantic scene at a California beach.
The comment section of van de Donk’s post showed waves of congratulations for the happy couple.
Kerr showed her immense excitement for the pair with a “Let’s goooooo” and “Congrats guys xx”.
The rest of the team piped up to similarly shower the couple with love.

Carpenter, 23, and now fiancee, van de Donk, 32, are rumoured to have been dating for about a year before making it will-you-marry-me official.
Carpenter was the youngest-ever female soccer player to compete at the Olympics at just 15 years old, while her successful partner has also played in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
