Education MEC Mbali Frazer says the higher bachelor passes places the matriculants at a better chance at pursuing tertiary education.
“I want to emphasise that our aim as the Department is to see fewer and fewer of our candidates exit the system with higher certificates because we know that bachelor passes place them in a better position to pursue their studies and other opportunities post-matric level,” said MEC for Education, Ms Mbali Frazer.
The Class of 2023 also recorded 43 769 diploma passes while the number of higher certificates decreased from 22 560 in 2022 to 20 435 in 2023.
