The personal assistant of Friends star Matthew Perry has shared a heartwarming tribute to the actor after his tragic death last week.
34-year-old Briana Brancato took to Instagram and paid a touching tribute to the late actor.
Perry revealed in his autobiography, which was released last year, his close and platonic relationship with a woman who was his personal assistant.
He shared that one of his closest, years-long relationships was with a woman under the pseudonym Erin, and said she was his “best friend” and that she “saved” his life.
Perry said his relationship with his assistant was never romantic and that she quickly became one of his closest friends.
When the 54-year-old tragically died, the person who discovered his body and called 911 was described as his assistant, but their name has not been confirmed.
Brancato wrote in an Instagram post: “I’ve expressed my deepest gratitude to him on numerous occasions, not only for guiding me into a career I cherish but also for allowing me to take care of him for 7 years.”
“Along with the countless other experiences I’m thankful for. From witnessing him in his genius to sharing in his worldly adventures living around the world, he took me on a remarkable journey.“My heart is heavy, but celebrating my memories is the most profound way to honour his legacy.
Devastated friends flooded the comments on Brancato’s post.
“Do you know I instantly thought of you once I heard the news!!! Hope you’re good. Deepest condolences,” one person wrote.
Another said: “You made his chaotic life manageable for him and he cared about you so much. I hope you can find peace and comfort in the memories of him.”
“He loved you and was so grateful for you. Your friendship was unmatched,” a third wrote.
