When the weather starts to get cooler, it inspires many to transition into a new haircut or color (Dua Lipa!). So it makes sense that the autumnal season is the peak time for celebrity transformations. The latest celeb with a new hair color is none other than Meryl Streep. Instead of her usual blonde ‘do, 21-time Oscar nominated actor stepped out with a head of white hair.
She debuted the hair color at the 2023 Princess of Asturias Award ceremony on October 18, where she was presented with the award for the Arts. For the event, Streep wore a red-printed shirt, a black blazer, and thick-framed glasses. Her hair down with a side part of sorts that looked like she just swept the front section over to one side. Her hair cascaded to mid-back and, in some photos, appeared to have a grayish tint in the cool tones of the lighting.
Streep’s face looked nearly makeup-free except for what might have been a matte pink lipstick. And while it’s unlikely that she stepped out of the house without a lick of makeup, the no-makeup, makeup look paired well with the simple vibe of the entire outfit.
It appears she’s used the technique of gray blending, which helps transition hair by incorporate gray hair through tactful highlighting.
