Mix 94.5 weds Perth couple live on air in Vinnie’s op shop wedding

A Perth couple, together for 20 years, have finally decided to tie the knot with a twist, sealing the deal with a kiss inside a Vinnie’s op shop.

Butler’s Troy and Lisa were part of Mix 94.5’s Op Shop Wedding and had their big day inside a Vinnie’s surrounded by friends, family and staff from the radio station.

Pre-loved outfits provided a humorous twist on wedding attire, with groom Troy dressed in a pink Hawaiian shirt and a retro Fremantle Dockers tie.

Bride Lisa looked stunning in a laced, trumpet-style wedding gown.

An old 1980s Casio keyboard provided the soundtrack to walk them down the aisle and breakfast host Kymba Cahill sealed the deal for the couple as a registered celebrant.

Lisa said in her vows: “I promise to love you no matter what life throws at us, even in footy season when you’re yelling at the TV!”

The wedding didn’t leave a dry eye in the crowd, with host Pete Curulli even shedding tears.

The ceremony came after the couple, who met in a Joondalup nightclub, got engaged live on air in the Mix94.5 studio with their kids Kaiden, 15, Harrison, 11 and four-year-old Adaline part of the proposal.

Harrison said: “Sounds like Dad was the coolest guy at the nightclub and you chose well! Mum, will you marry Daddy?”

For the hens and bucks parties a coin toss was done, which saw the men having to take a pole dancing class and the women heading off for some adrenalin-filled go-kart racing.
