Mixtape Festival Volume 1 Perth: Aqua, 2 Unlimited and East 17 heading to RAC Arena for ‘90s nostalgia fest

Children of the ‘90s rejoice — an epic festival featuring some of the era’s biggest names in pop is heading to WA.

Mixtape Festival Volume 1, to be held at RAC Arena on March 28, will feature a host of names you’ve likely not thought about in years.

None more so than the headliners, Scandi Europop band Aqua, who are no doubt cashing in on Barbiemania.

Aqua, who shot to fame in 1997 with the hit Barbie Girl, will top the bill for the festival after a bumper year for Barbie (and Margot Robbie) fans everywhere.

But this festival line-up is far from a one-hit-wonder, with a raft of 90s bands bound to have millennials reminiscing.

East 17, the UK boy band that went head-to-head with Take That, inspired a generation of young men to wear their baseball caps very high on their heads — and don’t even get us started on the beanie thing.

Their hit single It’s Alright, released in 1993, earned a platinum record in Australia.
