Here’s everything you should know about the skies for October, and the next full lunar event for 2023.
Moon Phase for 31 October, 2023
According to moongiant.com, the moon phase for 31 October (tonight) is Waning Gibbous.

This means that we’re working down from the full lunar event towards a dark moon, and then working our way back to the full event for next month.

The sky might still be bright with 91% illumination predicted for the rest of the night. This is almost as bright as the full lunar event, but not quite – and it will keep getting less bright until we’re in waxing gibbous again.
When is the NEXT full moon for 2023?
According to the lunar calendar, the next full moon for 2023 will happen in November.
If you want to see this event in action, watch the next lunar event on 27 November (which will be a Monday evening).

After this, you can expect to see the next full event only in December. According to Almanac, the December moon is called the Cold one, because of the season and temperatures.
