Mr P links with G/Fore on golf collection

We all know how popular golf is among affluent consumers and we also know how golf clothing doesn’t always have the best reputation, style-wise. But now YNAP’s Mr Porter is trying to remedy that through the latest launch for its Mr P own-brand.

Mr P/G/Fore

It has partnered with LA-based golf apparel brand G/Fore on the launch of a limited-edition exclusive golf collection available at both the e-tailer’s and the brand’s webstores.

It comes after the e-tailer launched a successful golf collection in 2021 that proved it’s an appealing category for its customers.

The new 12-piece collection “combines both brands’ contemporary approach to design, championing unique and innovative details and craftsmanship sensibilities”.

It includes seven ready-to-wear styles including cotton polos and open-collar polos, (“a silhouette synonymous with Mr P”) that feature a Mr P x G/Fore logo patch under the back collar. There are also stretch twill trousers and shorts, single pleat trousers, plus two existing G/Fore golf shoe silhouettes, one of which has the Mr P logo featured on the underside of the shoe, “conveniently visible during the follow-through of a golf swing. Both are fully waterproof and breathable.

The final pieces in the offer are the Daytona golf bag with Mr P embroidery on front pocket and zips, alongside a cotton crochet bucket hat and cabretta leather glove.

For the first month of the just-launched collab, half of the net profits from the collection sold on Mr Porter will be donated to its Health In Mind Fund.

Mr Porter clearly sees golf as a key category and at the same time as this launch, it’s also unveiled its now Mr P “golf-inspired range” of ready-to-wear and footwear, that it says is “ideal for those seeking an alternative to high-performance technical apparel, or for golfers who are inspired by fairway style, on and off the course”.

That comprises 19 pieces such as blouson jackets in suede and microcheck seersucker finishes and matching seersucker trousers, statement stripe print long- and short-sleeved polo shirts alongside Jacquard and textured open-collar polos, all with relaxed fits, plus knitwear and Derby shoes “reinterpreted as technical golf shoes”.
